Police Name Man Found In Water: Colin Brown

The Bermuda Police Service has officially named the dead man found last night [July 1] floating in Hamilton Harbour as 56 year old Colin Brown of Warwick, and said that foul play is not suspected.

Around 9pm yesterday Mr. Brown’s lifeless body was seen floating in the waters of Hamilton Harbour in the vicinity of ‘ Paradise Lakes’. The Police Marine Unit conveyed the deceased to Barrs Bay Park where he was subsequently pronounced dead by an on call physician at 10:25pm. The investigation into this incident is ongoing and an autopsy is expected to be conducted today. Foul play is not suspected at this time.

Mr Brown was an avid snooker player in years past, a long time member of Old Colony Club and a former bartender for the Bermuda Athletic Association [BAA]. John Doran, President of BAA, was saddened by the news saying “Colin was a good and harmless person and it’s tragic that his life ended this way.”

The Bermuda Police Service, as well as Bernews, extends condolences to the family and friends of Mr. Brown.
