Forecasters Warn Of Tropical Storm
[Updated] The fourth tropical depression of the 2010 Atlantic Hurricane Season has formed in the south-central Atlantic Ocean, and meteorologists have said Bermuda may be affected this coming weekend. Tropical Depression Four is packing sustained winds of 35 mph, and if the sustained wind speeds increase to 39 mph or above, it will be classified as Tropical Storm Colin.
According to the US National Hurricane Service, the system is expected to track west-northwest at roughly 10 to 15 mph. If its forecast trajectory holds true, the storm is expected to veer towards Bermuda by Saturday August 8th. Forecasters do, however, warn that long-range predictions of tropical storms are incredibly difficult. There has been no indication the system could turn into a hurricane.
