Government Launches Washington Website
The new website of the Government of Bermuda’s Washington DC Office went live today, and is quite well done with a sleek design and good functionality. The Government says the site, Bermudadc.com, aims to extend the reach of the Washington Office to all Bermudians at home and to those in the US as the DC Office staff work to promote the agenda of the Government of Bermuda in the US. They further say the site will also serve as the gateway for many partner companies, institutions and US Government officials to the Government of Bermuda and our will help communicate the Government’s main areas of focus which include matters relating to public policy, social services, education, and immigration.
We intend to utilize technology to the greatest extent possible to expand our reach and keep the citizens that we serve informed of Bermuda’s operations in the US at all times,” says Omar McIntosh, Director of Bermuda’s Washington Office. “For many, our new website will be their introduction to the Government of Bermuda and hence it has been meticulously designed. We encourage the public to visit often and be a part of the exciting developments of Bermuda’s work in the US.”
Was there a lack of Bermudian interest in the various positions within this office? I think the office is a great idea, but more importantly a great opportunity for a Bermudian to become involved in international relations, particularly with all the talk of independence. Are there no suitably qualified Bermudian candidates? The London office is a good example of bringing along young Bermudian talent – what happened here?
All what talk of independence ?
