The ‘Give Back Games’ saw executives and staff from some of Bermuda’s leading companies competing in Beach Olympics on Thurs, Sept 23rd to raise money for charity. The companies, each representing a charity of their choice, competed in events like the Frisbee Goal Throw, the Sea Kayak Race the Flipper Relay.
Guy Carpenter & Company won first overall and netted $11,000 for YouthNet. In second place was Axis Capital Holdings who won $9,000 for the Bermuda Red Cross and in third was RenaissanceRe which earned $7,500 for the Coalition for the Protection of Children.
The other eight companies and their charities were: Arch Reinsurance and Salvation Army; Argo Capital Group and The Family Centre; ACE Tempest Re and Greenrock; Catlin and Bermuda Cancer and Health; Endurance Specialty Insurance and Sunshine League; Tokio Millenium Re and Friends of Hope Academy; Validus Re and Big Brothers and Big Sisters; XL Capital and P.A.L.S.. Each of these charities received $5,500 for the efforts of the companies representing them. The Give Back Games were organised by The Centre on Philanthropy.
