Rugby League Starts This Weekend

bermuda rugby sept 2010 (12)This weekend sees the start of the start of the Bermuda Rugby League campaign for all the clubs.

First up at 2pm, Renegades will be taking on Police, who came so close to winning the title last season. Games between the two teams have always been close, high scoring encounters and this one promises to be much the same. Next up is the Presidents Cup match, with sees last season league winners, Teachers, take on last season’s Nicol Shield winners, Mariners, with kick off at 3:30pm.

As a prelude to the games, the ladies touch tournament will commence at 1pm with Renegades ladies beginning the defense of their crown against Police and Mariners taking on Teachers.

All games are at the rugby pitch in Dockyard, which is located next to Westgate. Supporters are more than welcome and entrance is free. Anyone wishing to find out more about rugby in Bermuda, or to get involved, please contact Ian Henderson on ichenderson15 “at” gmail.com.
