US Attorney General Arrives in Bermuda
US Attorney General Eric Holder has arrived in Bermuda for a brief visit. He was the guest of honour at a private reception held this evening (Sept 29) at the home of the US Consul General Grace Shelton.
Premier Dr Ewart Brown, who has met previously with Mr Holder in Washington in 2009, headed a small cluster of legal and law enforcement officials at the reception.
Mr Holder will speak at a luncheon hosted by the Premier tomorrow afternoon following a meeting between the two at the Cabinet Office in the morning.
Of Barbadian ancestry, Mr Holder is the current Attorney General of the United States and the first African American to hold the position. Mr Holder had previously served in then-United States Senator Barack Obama’s presidential campaign as a senior legal advisor, and also as the Deputy Attorney General of the US.
