nice…placing the failed candidate for the youth directors job in charge of the person who was selected ,ie, devarr boyles.. great move larry.. boyles must be feeling truly secure .. we eat our young.. sad!!!

The upside is that he doesn’t support the existing Technical Director and this hopefully will see an end to his contract..Coaches live in hope…

I read in another media outlet the concern some in the football community have regarding the hiring of Jaques Crevosier as Tehcnical Consultant. Crevosier was selected by the Player Devel;opment Comm ( PDC ) and approved by the majority of the former Executive.

The same PDC elected not to renew the contract of the current TD Derek Broadley. A decison tghat was fully supported by the former Executive. This dedcison was made in April of this year, after Broadley requested that a decision on renewing his contract be made 1 year in advance of his contract/ work permit expiring. Note that there were many in the football community that wanted Broadley fired prior to the end of his contract, however the PDC and in particular, the FA president Calderon insisted that Broadley be allowed to complete his 3 year contract.

What I find unacceptable is the fact that our youth and coaches are about to be denied exposure to one of the very best coaches in the world because blowhard anglophiles in our commmunity still have the ability to convince us that the an English accent should be cherished, almost worshipped. Ironic isn’t it that the English don’t respect their own coaches, however in the colonies we should, and in doing so not question, only accept that they know best. Sad….

If this Executive spurn the chance to employ Crevosier then every player and coach denied exposure to his football nous, should take off their boots and protest being denied the opportunity to be coacvhed by a legend. Or we can continue with Broadley and continue to be denied value for money. Keep in mind that the former, now current President of the BFA, hired the current TD at a cost of 250k annually.. Fact.. Go figure

I have watched the current TD in action and am left bemused by those that feel he is worth the huge amount of tax payer money being spent to retain him. It is quite basic his teachings and to be honest I don’t understand his ” Running with the ball ” philosophy. I have researched hard and long and I suspect this playing concept must be original thinking, for which I applaud him, however, I would much prefer my center backs to defend rather than run with the ball.

I agree with Ronnie J when he says that only the colonies ( maybe just this one ) favour an English coach. Look at the top teams in England and you will not hear an English voice, Harry Redknapp aside. Heck their national coach is Italian.

I get AR’s support and his families, however, that is where it ends….

      Just sayin!!!

      • Jason D says:

I goggled Jacques Crevosier and I am amazed that he has agreed to assist us in any manner. Look at this guys pedigree and judge for yourself…

I subsequently contacted a member of the former BFA Executive who exlained what his contract entailed. The current Executive need to be honest and the press need to do their homework, because what he has to offer is far more than 3 trips to Bda. Time for honesty boys. We should be so lucky to have this guy agree to assist this small. insignificant football country..
Just say thanks Wade .. Just say thanks…

Apparently all you have to do is ask the best coach in Bermuda Andrew Bascombe..

The guy raves about Crevosier.. Maybe Boyles, Morton and others will openly champion the hiring of Crevosier as they have been exposed to his excellence as well.

          Well boys,let’s hear your thoughts!!!!
