Video: Ten Couples Arrive For Weekend Weddings
Yesterday [Oct 9] ten lucky couples arrived in Bermuda, along with their family and friends, all planning to get married this weekend. The couples were all winners of a contest held by the Bermuda Department of Tourism, in partnership with the Knot and JetBlue.
Winning brides and grooms received their choice of one of ten six-day, five-night, dream wedding getaways. The wedding getaways are themed; Exotic Cave, Eco-Chic, Magical Sunset, Waves of Love, Moongate, Sunset and Pink Sand, Waterfront, Harbourfront, Nostalgic Bermuda and Linked For Life.
When the plane touched down yesterday afternoon, family members and friends disembarked the plane first. The 10 engaged couples then exited the plane and were greeted by the Acting Tourism & Transport Minister Zane DeSilva, a moongate and our pink carpet runway. After clearing immigration and customs, the Gombeys welcomed them as they exited. Minister DeSilva spoke a few words and they were led away in pre-arranged taxis.
