World Games: Mitchell Scores Personal Best
66-year-old Alexander “Sandy” Mitchell scored a personal best during his round at the World Equestrian Games (WEG) being held in Kentucky.
Yesterday [Oct 8] Mr. Mitchell scored a 61.9%, the highest he has ever scored at a World Championship or Paralympic event. He will perform his freestyle today to round out his competition schedule.
Mr. Mitchell, who has cerebral palsy, is one of the oldest para riders at the WEG at 66 years old. Also a cancer survivor, he is the founder of both WindReach Bermuda and WindReach Farm.
Meanwhile fellow equestrian Patrick Nisbett, also competing at the Worlds, is currently in 70th place with 28.83 points. On Day 1 of the speed competition Mr. Nisbett finished in 29th out of 121 competitors. On Day 2 during the Table A – 1st Round, Mr. Nisbett and Cataro 32 had 12 jumping faults in their round.
