Gunn & Smith Win Olympic Distance Triathlon
Ryan Gunn and Karen Smith won the 2010 Bermuda National Olympic Distance Triathlon which was held today [Nov 28] at Clearwater. The course consisted of a 1.5 km swim, 40km bike ride and a 10k run, and is a premiere event for local triathletes. The two champions are pictured below:
Ryan Gunn, who is only 17-years-old, crossed the line in a time of 2:08:40, with Jonathan Herring finishing second in 2:14:18, while Karen Smith finished as the first female, and 3rd overall, in 2:19:11. Mr. Gunn led from start to finish completing the 1.5km swimming portion in 20.25, the 40km bike course in 1:06:58, and covered the 10k run in 41:17. In the Team Event Adam Hopkins, Tim Goodyear and Peter Gracey finished in 2:22:51 to win the team title.
