Premier Officially Opens Cooper’s 3rd Floor
A.S. Cooper & Sons celebrated the official opening of their new Reid Street level 3rd floor on Friday with a ribbon cutting by Premier Paula Cox.
After an introduction by Chairman of the A.S. Cooper Board, Kim White, Premier Cox applauded A.S. Cooper & Sons for their “innovation, intelligence and inventiveness” and for “building from strength to strength since the 1800’s as one of Bermuda’s signature stores”.
Managing Director Somers Cooper joined the Premier in the ribbon cutting and once completed, Premier Cox quickly began browsing the merchandise. Fellow MP’s Dame Jennifer Smith and Minister Neletha Butterfield, all of whom left with at least one of the well-known blue bags, joined her in a little “retail therapy” following the ceremony. Other dignitaries in attendance included Mayor of Hamilton Charles Gosling and Chamber of Commerce President, Stephen Todd.
A.S. Coopers reopened at 26 Reid St. showcasing their best ladies fashions and accessories, which they had moved up from the second floor. Their second floor has been converted to a Missy Sportswear department and was relocated from their Harbourside store. New additions on the second floor include an enhanced Petites Department and a brand new Intimate Apparel Department.
