This Sunday: Road Closures for Christmas Parade

istock santa christmas 2010The City of Hamilton today [Nov 24] announced a number of road closures this coming Sunday [Nov 28] for the annual Christmas Parade. The parade starts at 5:00pm from the corner of Par-la-Ville Road and Church Street.

The parade will travel along the following route: floats will exit from Par-la-Ville Car Park, travel west onto Church Street, south on Par-la-Ville Road, east along Front Street, north on Court Street, west on Church Street to the junction of Par-la-Ville Road where the floats will disperse.

Starting at 12:00 noon there will be no parking along the parade route or in Par-la-Ville Car Park, No. 5 Car Park (except for the disabled and senior citizens), Par-la-Ville Road between Church Street and Serpentine Road; Wesley Street between Church and Victoria Streets and Victoria Street, between Dismont Drive and Wesley Street.

Starting at 4:30pm there will be no parking on Church Street between Burnaby and Parliament Streets.

The following roads will be closed from 4:00pm until the end of the parade to allow for spectators to assemble: Par-la-Ville Road between Church and Front Streets; Par-la-Ville Road between Church Street and Serpentine Road (southbound only); Front Street between Bermudiana Road and King Street; Reid Street between Queen and King Streets; the length of Queen Street; Church Street between Par-la-Ville Road and King Street; Burnaby Street between Front and Church Streets; Parliament Street between Front and Church Streets; Court Street between Front and Church Streets; and King Street between Front and Reid Streets.

The City of Hamilton apologises to the public for the inconvenience caused.
