“Firebird” Ready To Soar

December 6, 2010

The curtain goes up on the Bermuda Musical & Dramatic Society’s annual Christmas pantomime on Thurs [Dec 8], a zany take on the Russian fable “The Firebird”.

Promising to be a riot of a riot of songs, colour and fun-filled family entertainment, the production is being directed by Bermudian theatre veteran  Carol Birch and features original music by James Burn, a former Bermuda music teacher and composer whose original musical “Legacy Falls” was recently staged in London.

Featuring hissable baddies,  heroes you will want to cheer for and hummable songs, “The Firebird” runs at City Hall Theatre from December 9-18 at City Hall Theatre beginning at 7:30 pm with 3 pm matinees on December 11, 12 and 18.  There will be no evening performance on Sunday, December 12. Tickets for some performances are still available at the BMDS Daylesford Theatre boxoffice tonight and tomorrow from  5:30 pm – 7 pm.  The theatre is located at the corner of Dundonald and Washington Streets.
