Video: Former Olympians Sprint Challenge
Three of Bermuda’s best all time athletes faced off in a sprinting challenge tonight (Dec 4) in a fundraiser for the Bermuda Track and Field Association. Former Olympians Brian Wellman, Troy Douglas and Devon Bean raced a 40m Challenge tonight at National Sports Centre.
One of the best sprinters in Bermuda’s history, Troy Douglas finished second at the 1995 IAAF World Indoor Championships in the 200 metres event, and represented Bermuda at the 1988, 1992 and 1996 Summer Olympics.
Also a top class sprinter, Devon Bean competed at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics, and is the Bermuda National Record Holder in the 100 metres. Mr Bean won the race tonight, and is pictured below with his daughter
A former world class triple jumper, Brian Wellman is one of the best Bermudian athletes of any genre. A four time Olympian, Mr. Wellman had two top six finishes in the Olympics; 5th in 1992 and 6th in 1996, and won the World Championships in 1995. Mr Wellman finished second tonight.

I witnessed this race…these guys still “have it going on” ..the race was over in no time…they actually took more time warming up!!!! well done guys!!!
