Female Pedestrian Injured In Collision

Last night a 48 year old woman was taken to the hospital after being struck by an SUV while walking in an area near Tuckers Town. The Police say that she was walking near a round-a-bout, and the SUV was negotiating the round-a-bout when the collision occurred.

A Police spokesman said: “Around 9:45pm on Wednesday, Police and first responders attended a reported road traffic collision resulting in injury on Mid Ocean Drive near the junction with Tuckers Town Road in St. George’s involving a SUV and a pedestrian.”

“It appears that the pedestrian, a 48 year old Hamilton parish woman, was walking near a round-a-bout in the area and the SUV was negotiating the round-a-bout when the collision occurred.”

“The Hamilton parish woman was injured and taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment. The driver of the SUV, a 65 year old Southampton man, was not injured and the vehicle was not damaged.

“Inquiries into this incident are underway.”

Update: She has been treated, and discharged from the hospital.
