Football: Bermuda Beat Guyana 3-0
Bermuda have won their first of three matches in the World Cup qualifier this evening [Jan 19], when they put on a stellar performance defeating Guyana 3 – 0 in Suriname.
Goals from Dante Leverock, Dante Albouy and Troy Tucker sealed the victory for Bermuda. Bermuda took the lead in the 9th minute, when Casey Castle dribbled past three players and squared the ball for Dante Leverock to side foot home. Goalkeeper Tahj Bell made a fine save in the 17th minute to keep Guyana from drawing level.
In the 42 minute of play, Guyana received a red card after bringing down Dante Leverock, and Bermuda played the remainder of the game with a one man advantage. Substitute Dante Albouy doubled the lead in the 65th minute, with Troy Tucker sealing with victory for Bermuda with the third goal.
The starting lineup for Bermuda was: Tahj Bell, Anthony Hunter, Reiko Trott, Roger Lee, Jaylon Bather, Casey Castle, Jamel Swan, Troy Tucker, Reggie Lambe, Quadir Maynard Dante Leverock
Bermuda will play their second match Friday night [Jan 21] against Netherlands Antilles starting at 4pm local time.
