2011 Lindo’s ISL Draft To Be Held April 30th
The 2011 Lindo’s ISL Draft will be held April 30th, 2011 starting at 7 pm at the Southampton Princess hotel. This is the 5th annual draft for the league.
The draft will last eight rounds with each ISL team selecting one player in each round. Every ISL coach was allowed to protect six players and one Goalkeeper from last year’s squad.
There will also be an ISL combine at BAA field on April 26th and April 27th. The combine runs from 6:30 pm to 9 pm on April 26th, and from 7:15 pm to 9 pm on April 27th. To participate players must have finished high school, and signed up with BFA league. Premier thru Commercial league players are eligible. Players must be at least 18 years old.
The format for the draft will be one minute between each pick with a break after the fourth round. All eight Lindo’s ISL coaches will be in attendance along with certain ISL players. All coaches and players at the draft will be available for interviews before and after the draft. Lindo’s ISL All Stars Jahron Dickinson, Kaiya Darrell, Ralph Bean Jr., and Kwame Steede were all selected in the First round of the 2010 Lindo’s ISL draft. There were also some pretty good players selected towards the end of the draft as well. All Star Rui Furtardo was selected in the seventh round by the Kings, and ISL regular season MVP Domico Coddington was also taken later in the seventh round by the Storm. The ISL schedule will be released next week.
