Lunch With CEOs: 44 Hours Left To “Bid”
Those interested in raising funds for charity while having lunch with one of the island’s top CEOs have 44 hours left to “bid.”
“Lunch With” – is an online auction benefitting P.A.L.S. Cancer Care in Bermuda. Auction participants will be bidding to win an exclusive lunch with one of nine CEOs with 100% of the amount of the winning bid going directly to P.A.L.S.
The CEOs offering to host lunch in support of P.A.L.S. are: Brian Duperrault, President & CEO of MMC; AXIS Capital’s Chairman Michael Butt and CEO & President, John Charman; XL Group CEO Mike McGavick; Stephen Catlin, CEO of Catlin; former Premier Sir John.Swan; Neill Currie, CEO of RenaissanceRe; Philip Butterfield CEO of HSBC and Costas Miranthis, President & CEO of PartnerRe.
When the bidding opened, HSBC’s Phillip Butterfield and XL’s Mike McGavick started off leading the pack, however weeks later they have been overtaken by Costas Miranthis, President & CEO of PartnerRe and Brian Duperrault, President & CEO of MMC, who presently have the highest bids.
Co-ordinator of this unique fundraiser, Ian Coles, said that the lunches will be arranged for a day that is convenient for both the winning bidder and the CEO. “The location is entirely up to the CEO. He could invite the winner to share a sandwich in his office, host lunch at his favourite restaurant, or he might have another suggestion – that is entirely in his hands”.
Ann Smith Gordon, President and CEO of P.A.L.S. said “I do want to express our deep gratitude to all the hosts of this unique event, not only for agreeing to participate but also for their generosity, time, interest and support of P.A.L.S. in this very special way”.
Bidding is open at the website www.lunchwith.bm and the auction closes at 5pm this Thursday [Apr.21].
Give me a break…Jesus Christ sure, some over paid CEO…I’ll pass
I think its a good idea! especially if the CEO matches the winning bid
Paula Cox should bid. She might learn something.
They are all out to lunch already…who is paying?^^
this is the funniest thing i have ever seen. I love it. Great idea. I wish I was there I’d have the winning bid to have lunch with Sir. John.
Actually this is a good networking idea if you are in the same feild. Hope some young males jump at this chance to get their name out there.
