QV Cruise Passengers Rate Bermuda #1
Minister of Transport Terry Lister said today [Apr.19] that passengers on the recent visit of the Queen Victoria cruise ship to Bermuda rated the island as the top destination.
The Queen Victoria came to Bermuda on April 2, 2011, leaving the same day having originated in Fort Lauderdale. The ship also stopped in South Carolina, the Azores, Lisbon, Ireland, France and terminated in England.
In a survey passengers ranked Bermuda as the top scoring port of call with a score of 91.3. The nearest rival achieved 88.2. Ratings derived from a score of 67.2% excellent, 30.9% good and 1.9% fair. Bermuda was the only port of call to have a score of 0% for poor.
Minister Lister said: “This is indeed good news. I’m very pleased that our efforts have not gone unnoticed. The staff of the Ministry of Transport are working hard to ensure this cruise season is a success and I would like to thank them for their efforts.”
She arrived carrying 1912 passengers and 970 crew. The 964ft long, 90,049t vessel entered service for Cunard in 2007, and boasts ornate marble staircases, a 3 tier grand lobby, and a 6,000 title library. This month’s visit was the first ever of the Queen Victoria to Bermuda, and she will return in December.
So the ship was here for a day, if that. People thought the place was pretty. How much they spend on island.
If the staff of the Ministry are working so hard….how come the ship may come back in December……………………….freeking spin…………………I keep forgetting Mr. Lister lives in St. George…………………..
Do you ever write anything that makes sense?
Positive feedback is never a bad thing.
Are you refering to my comments or what Mr. Lister said.
Congratulations on your first coherent and complete sentence. Just add a question mark and all would’ve been well.
Kiss my a&s Hmmmmmmmmm. Guess you don’t live in Bermuda and hear the local dialogue.
Nothing to do with the topic but typical shoot the messenger. Irony eh?….?….?/’0(8&^%$
Wow u guys are so nasty to each other! Freedom of speech people!
I wonder why they will only return in Dec as well.. if their passengers liked it here they so add more visits to Bermuda!
Don’t worry CanadianLuv……..Chralie Sheen is unemployed and so are most of the posters here who dominate other local sites. Their monies are gone and so will they be soon. Just fun and ironic to listen to these as&$holes watch a sinking ship that their parents and grandparents built. Shame.
Good news for the tourist industry!!! Some or many of the visitors will return to the island via airplane and stay in a hotel. Way to go!
Why is tis Smoing/king gun following me. Maybe 3 hours with Dr. Carol Shuman would help……..
I would be interested to see whether the results would be the same now, given that the ferry service had not changed at the time of the survey.
Where was the fanfare?? I would have like to have know about this marvelous ships arrival in advance. Maybe we should have a little more national pride for these hi-seas visitors. The fire boats need to run the pumps you know….
THAT IS GREAT NEWS KEEP THE GOOD WORK UP BERMUDA!!!!
I was on Queen Victoria and really enjoyed my visit to Bermuda. I fully intend coming back for longer so I can see more of the island.
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed your stay with us.
