Train With Beyonce & Rihanna’s Choreographers

Next month some of the top choreographers in the industry will host master classes in Bermuda. NAACP, BET and MTV Video Music Award winner JaQuel Knight, who choreographed Beyonce’s hit music video “Single Ladies,” is amongst those who will be on the island.

Other choreographers who have worked with top entertainers including Rihanna, Ciara, Ashanthi, Fergie, Kelly Rowland, Janet Jackson, Sean Paul and Diddy will also be flying in to take part in the master classes.

On Saturday May 14, 2011 at The Berkeley Institute, TROIKA in association with The Broadway Dance Centre of New York will be hosting their first ever Performing Arts Master Class Workshop entitled ‘GROOVE’. Participants will get the opportunity to win one of the four scholarships being offered by The Broadway Dance Centre of New York.

This event is focused on bringing Bermudian dancers together with the industry’s top professional choreographers.There will be intense master classes ranging from Hip Hop, Dancehall, Jazz Funk, Contemporary, Heels and Salsa. Participants will also have the opportunity to benefit from a Q&A with the faculty as well as group photo opportunities.

The international instructors participating in this event are some of the top choreographers in the industry. Collectively their work includes choreographing for concert tours, feature films, music videos and commercials.

They include NAACP and MTV Video Music Award winner JaQuel Knight [Beyonce -Single Ladies], internationally renowned and critically acclaimed dancer and choreographer LUAM [Rihanna, Ciara, Ashanthi, Fergie, Kelly Rowland], Dana Foglia who is known for her work with Beyonce, Janet Jackson and Rihanna, and Onika Powell who has worked with Rihanna, Sean Paul and Diddy.

    guarenteed no bermudians will go….. we are such a snobby stuck up group of people that unless those actual artists are here, the kids will turn their nose up. Parenting at its finest…. none of these kids have any manners or respect for anything other than material items and celebrities. The kids who really want it and will actually pay attention should be given grants to go away and train with people like this. Waste of time bringing them to this spoiled rotten island. Shame.

    Great… So instead of our young ladies just trying to copy these ppl from the tv, they actually get to be taught how to dance like them. While it is great that people will be getting scholarships it should not be through this. What happened to the days when people got scholarships because they are smart and not because they can dance. Oh well.
