Latroya Darrell Sets New National Record
This past weekend, Latroya Darrell competed in the Southeastern Conference Track & Field Championships in Georgia, powering out a 13.04m in the Triple Jump to set a new Bermuda National Record.
Ms Darrell recorded leaps of 12.74, 13.04, 12.53, 12.66 and a foul on her final attempt. The 13.04 was also a personal best for Ms Darrell.
There were three Bermudians in action at the event, as Aaron Evans and Allison Outerbridge also were competeting.
Ms Outerbridge also competed in the Women’s Triple Jump finishing 15th with a top leap of 11.64m. Aaron Evans, the Bermuda National Record holder who is nursing an injury, competed in the Men’s 800m Final finished 8th with a time of 2:01.18.
