Michael Carr Joins Argo Group International

Bermuda-based Argo Group International Holdings, Ltd., an international underwriter of specialty insurance and reinsurance products, announced today [May 26] that Michael Carr has joined the company as underwriting vice president for the Errors & Omissions (E&O) division of Argo Pro.

He will be based in the Chicago office and will report to Mike Fleischer, chief underwriting officer for Colony Specialty.

Headquartered in Hamilton, Argo Group International Holdings, Ltd.  is an international underwriter of specialty insurance and reinsurance products in the property and casualty market.

“We’re pleased to have Michael join the Argo Pro team to head up our E&O division. He brings the experience and expertise needed to carry us forward in this very important market space for Argo Pro,” said Mr. Fleischer.

Mr. Carr brings more than 20 years of experience in insurance operations and property, casualty and professional liability underwriting to this role.

He recently served as vice president for technology and media at the Navigators Group, where he was responsible for developing technology, data privacy and media insurance products.

Prior to that, Mr. Carr served as director for technology professional and data security at Markel Corporation, where he led the development and implementation of new technology, E&O and cyber risk products.

Mr. Carr has authored many articles on cyber risks. He has given numerous talks on data privacy and security and was the moderator of the data privacy panel at the 2009 PLUS professional risk symposium.

Mr. Carr holds a bachelor of philosophy degree from Northwestern University and an Associate in Risk Management designation.
