Photos: First Power Boat Race Of 2011 Season

The Bermuda Power Boat Association hosted its first power boat race of the season at Ferry Reach yesterday [May 15].

Andy & Anthony Stoneham won the S Class, while Henry Talbot, Jr & Howard Ascento won the C Class. Taking the top honors in the D Class was Ryan Davidge & Andrew Osbourne, while the husband and wife duo of Chris & Heather Roque won the FB Class and Brian Lightbourn & Kenny Matthie won the Thunder Cat Class.

Meanwhile Derek Simons won two of the day’s three races in the Bermuda Offshore Model Boat Association racing.

Competing in the Sport Class, Mike Lee ended the day at the top of the leaderboard with 141 points, while Simons finished second with 123 points. Quintonio Ratteray finished the day in third with 110 points, while George Pacheco finished 4th with 12 points, both Kiaune Basden and Dion Steede ended the day with 10 points. Paul Trew and Gavin Woolridge finished with 5 points and Brandon Frank finished 9th.

In Open Class racing Damon Simons won all three races on the day to finish with 180 points, Derek Simons finished second with 140 points, while Cleun Gaiton ended the day in third place with 95 points and Bryan Roach finished 4th. On Sunday, May 29 the BPBA and BOMBA will be hosting a Hamilton Harbour Race.
