Two Injured: Police Car & Taxi Accident
Yesterday morning [May 29] a Police car and taxi were both traveling along Kindley Field Road when they collided. The 78-year-old taxi driver and the police officer were both injured, receiving treatment at the scene by EMTs before being taken to the hospital with non-serious injuries.
A Police spokesman said, “Around 6:35am on Sunday, Police responded to a reported road traffic collision resulting in injury on Kindley Field Road in St. George’s involving a taxi and a police vehicle. It appears that the taxi and the police car were both traveling along Kindley Field Road when they collided.”
“The taxi driver, a 78 year old Warwick man and the police officer were both injured, receiving treatment at the scene by EMTs before being taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital for further medical assessment. Their injuries are not believed to be serious. Both vehicles were damaged as a result. Inquiries are underway.”
This marked the second accident involving a Police car in the east end this weekend, following the single vehicle collision on Saturday on St David’s main road.

Any one got word how that happened? I guess the police was responding to a serious accident, or was it a high speed chase. Maybe the taxi driver stopped short to pick up a fare? Well who cares as long as they are both ok. hope it was not the same officer who rode off the opel.

I hope it was the EXPENSIVE BMW police car that I have seen driving around! I still don’t understand the need to purchase that type of car; regardless if they were second hand or not! It’s unnecessary money being spent during the wrong time!
