ISL Soccer League: Union, Arsenal Win
Last night [June 28], the Union dispensed of the Royal 10-3 and the Arsenal beat up on the Kings 9-3 at National Stadium. The Union moved to 2-1 on the year while the Royal drop to 0-3. Arsenal’s victory gives them a perfect 3-0 record and drops the Kings to 1-2 on the season.
The Union were led by Forward Jason Lee. Lee scored the first two goals of the game and then notched the hat trick in the second quarter. Jahmel Swan added two goals for the Union.
The Union got starting GK Treadwell Gibbons back. Royal GK Zane Hendrickson started in goal for the Royal after missing Sunday’s game. Adrian Burrows, Jelani Butterfield, and Jah Simmons scored goals for the Royal.
In Tuesday’s night cap the Arsenal rallied from a two goal deficit to win 9-3. The Arsenal trailed 2-0 before exploding for seven straight goals. Arsenal Striker Cecoy Robinson had a hand in the first six goals and ended the night with three goals and four assists.
Robinson has nine goals in three games and leads the Lindo’s ISL in goals scored with nine. Shaki Pearman also had a hat trick for Arsenal. Daniel Adams started in goal for the Arsenal.
John Barry Nusum decided to rest starting GK Jason Smith. The Kings played without Rui Furtardo. He was forced to sit out one game after receiving a Red Card during Sunday’s Match.
Lindo’s ISL action resumes this coming Thursday with Ace Insurance Blue Division action. The Knights take on the Storm at 7:30 and the Titans battle the Apex at 8:45 pm.
The 2nd installment of Gospel nights has just been announced and is set for Sunday July 3rd at National Stadium. Scheduled to perform are MONTY G, POSITIVE, SIS SAM, GENEMAN, DEONDRE MORRIS, AND FYAH B.
