Lambe Hoping to Win Bristol Rovers Deal

June 1, 2011

reggie lambeBermudian footballer Reggie Lambe says he is hoping to be offered a permanent contract at Bristol Rovers, where he spent the final few weeks of the season on loan.

The 20-year-old was told he would not be offered new terms at Ipswich Town at the end of the campaign, reports twtd.co.uk.

Mr Lambe said: “I’m hoping to get a deal with Bristol Rovers, I really enjoyed my time there and would like to move there permanently.

“They didn’t really have a manager in place but that’s been sorted now [with former Torquay boss Paul Buckle having been appointed], so I’m waiting to see what happens. I expect they will be talking to my agent within the next two weeks and I’m hoping they offer me something.”

“I went out on loan to Bristol Rovers hoping it would boost my chances of getting another contract with Ipswich, but it wasn’t to be.

“[Paul Jewell] was excellent when he informed of his decision and spoke to me very respectfully. He told me what I needed to improve and I really appreciate that.”

Mr Lambe, says he has received interest from elsewhere, “There have been other offers. I haven’t turned a blind eye to them but I want to see what happens with Rovers first. My agent’s sorted everything out for me and I should know more in the next two weeks.”
