Roy-Allan Burch Sets New Backstroke Record

roy allan burchThe final day of the Bermuda Amateur Swimming Association National Championships this past weekend [June 11/12] saw Roy-Allan Burch set a new record during the men’s open 50 short course meter backstroke preliminaries when he finished in a time of 27.28.

Dylan Wooley Berry finished second with a time of 29.38 and Conor Mullen finished third clocking 31.97.

Mr Burch broke the old record of 27.84, which was set on February 24th, 2008 by Jason Mastalir.

Andrea Jurenovskis won the women’s open 50 short course meter backstroke preliminaries clocking a time of 30.58, Kiera Aitken finished second with a time of 30.88, and Ashley Yearwood finished third with a time of 32.33.
