Upcoming: Stand Up Community Clean Up Day
The anti-violence group Stand Up Bermuda will be hosting a Community Clean Up Day on June 18th 2011.
They said the focus of the Community Clean Up is to make their presence known in areas which are mostly affected by gang activity.
Jahma Gibbons, one of the Stand Up Bermuda organizers, previously spoke on the group’s formation saying, “The reason for it is to unite Bermuda as a whole. We want to get every charity group, business, and church to come out and stand up for Bermuda, as we feel that will be the only way to stop the violence that’s going on in our island.”
The Community Clean Up Day will start 9:30am on Glebe Road and will be followed by a Community BBQ for volunteers.
