Accident Victim Arrested For DUI
Emergency Services yesterday [July 13], responded to a report of an accident on North Shore Road near the junction with Store Hill.
In a statement today, Police say that the rider involved in that accident was arrested on suspicion of impaired driving.
A Police spokesperson said, “Around 6:30pm on Wednesday, police attended a reported single vehicle road traffic collision resulting in injury on North Shore Road in Smith’s parish near the junction with Store Hill involving a rental cycle.”
“The rider, a 68 year old Hamilton parish man, was injured and received treatment at the scene by EMTs before being taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for further medical assessment. His injuries are believed to be relatively minor. The Hamilton parish man was subsequently arrested on suspicion of impaired driving. Inquiries into this incident are underway.”

You missed the point…”he was arrested on suspicion of impaired driving.” Which means, before he can appear in court it has to be proven that he was in fact impaired.
Not ‘before he can appear in court’, that should be ‘when he appears in court’.
