Pair Compete In Golf Championships
Ryan Roberts and Mitchell Campbell completed their first Round of the 2011 Callaway Junior World Golf Championships yesterday [July 12].
Roberts ended the day T132nd after his first round 9-over par 81. Roberts started out on the back nine with back to back bogey’s then ran off four consecutive pars before shooting a bogey on the par 3 sixteenth but Roberts bounced back to shoot a birdie on the very next hole and when he shot a par on the eighteenth, Roberts made the turn 2-over par.
On the front nine, Roberts started out with three consecutive bogey’s. This was followed by a birdie, double bogey, birdie, bogey, double bogey and bogey to end his round 6-over par.
Campbell who started his round at 6:40am on the 10th hole, shot a first round 17-over par 89 and endured a tough day finishing T204th.
Campbell started out with a double bogey on the tenth then followed with a par on the eleventh. Campbell then shot back to back bogey’s, a triple bogey, a double bogey and back to back bogey’s before finishing the back nine with a double bogey to make the turn 13-over par.
On the front nine, Campbell started off with three consecutive pars, before shooting a bogey, double bogey, par and then a bogey. Campbell did manage a birdie in his round which came on the par 3 eighth but he closed out his round with a bogey.
