‘Severe Weather Warning’ Issued For Today

August 19, 2011

The Bermuda Weather Service issued a Severe Weather Warning, Small Craft Warning and Thunderstorm Advisory, which are all valid for his afternoon [Aug.19]

Their forecast for today said, “A frontal trough lingering in our area will continue to produce occasional rain or showers and a risk of thunder today.”

“A developing area of low pressure off the U.S. mid Atlantic coast will deepen as it moves northeastward, drawing this trough away northward. Another cold front will stall to our north this weekend.”

Saturday is forecast to be “mostly cloudy with 1 or 2 showers, becoming partly cloudy,” while Sunday is predicated to be “a mix sun and cloud with a few showers, clearing later.”
