In Magistrates Court today [Sept.12], a 38-year-old Sandys man was remanded into custody until a reappearance at 9:30am tomorrow morning. He was charged with five counts involving the sexual exploitation of a minor.
The offences were alleged to have occurred between 1999 and 2005 and alleged to have involved two young girls under the age of 10. The man – who cannot be named for legal reasons – pleaded not guilty to all five charges.

Don’t these dirdy ole bastids ever get it? Their little victims grow up, probably need councilling for pschological issues, and they tell on yur sorry lame azz….leave the little gurls alone!!!!
The punishment of all who are found guilty without a shadow of doubt….Castration and I make no b@@ls about it!!
These men often walk free because the poor children have testify and are afraid to do so. These stupid laws!
A guy can live quite happily without his ‘b@@ls’ .. It’s the other thing that needs to be cut off , that’s what he’ll go ‘nuts’ without .
I wanted to draw your attention to this important petition that I recently signed:
“ATTENTION Bermuda: Approval of a public registered sex offenders list.”
http://www.ipetitions.com/petition/bermuda-registeredsexoffender/?utm_medium=email&utm_source=system&utm_campaign=Send%2Bto%2BFriend
I really think this is an important cause, and I’d like to encourage you to add your signature, too. It’s free and takes just a few seconds of your time.
Thanks!

Agreed! Everybody needs to sign this! WHY do these bastards get so much protection?!
So a petition against bus strikes gets a thousand plus signatures in a day but a petition to protect our children has stalled at 260?
SMH.
And we wonder why this country is f$%ked.
“When the youth are not initiated into the village they will burn it down just to feel the heat” ~ African proverb
Thanks for posting; I was going to draw attention to the petition as well. All of Bermuda should be signing and getting behind their law makers to get this done. Enough is enough!
IF THERE IS STRONG EVIDENCE, PUT THIS PERSON ON BLAST!!!!
Put him in a cell with “Bubba”
wow! they need to cut his pen!s off n put his name and picture out there. smh
ITS THE MINDSET THAT NEEDS TO BE CUT OFF, not the body part.
Here’s a thought – for ALL alleged offenders (MALE AND FEMALE) —
What about mandatory time every day watching and responding to a series of educational video that is geared to the heart of the matter of these types of criminals, that has been proven to alter their view of themselves and their former victims? This may even have them reveal who may have exploited them when they were young!!!
Then they can start healing and watching the healing set of the programs so that the anger would not be taken out on others.
This would be cheaper than jail/ psychologist.
Anywhere else his name & mug shot would be published the day after arrest. But no, this is Bermuda, the Isle of no morals.
As I have said on another page: 1) since sexual molestation and rape are more about power, coercion and the humiliation of the victim, cutting things off doesn’t change the mindset. The perpetrators will just find some other tool to use – hands, fists or other objects. 2) although publishing names and photos is a step, it may backfire. There are far more predators out there than ever get caught, and parents (and others) may feel a false sense of security because they will be looking to protect themselves and their children from those who have been identified. Meanwhile, brothers, husbands, fathers, uncles, grandfathers, step-relatives, and family friends could be the ones you need to be looking out for!
All children (male and female) need to learn sexual safety – the difference between bad touch and good touch; not allowing touch in areas covered by underwear or touching any one else in those areas. They also need to live in a climate that allows discussion of any topic in safety, so they know they can tell their parents about things that disturb them without being made to feel guilty or like they are at fault.
Teachers also need to be able to recognize the signs that indicate a problem
and to be accessible. It is not their responsibility to solve the problem, but they do have a duty to report it – the school counselor, the Women’s Resource Center or Family Services or are all possible resources.
Our society needs to reach the point where they stop blaming the victim, especially in the case of under-age children (it will increase the incidence of reporting, for one thing). They are CHILDREN, and as such, adults have the responsibility to behave as adults and not exploit them. Even those sexually precocious young ones are generally only demonstrating previous exploitation – whether through being exposed to sexually explicit scenes or through previous molestation.
I will get off my soap-box now, although there is much more that could be said around this topic.
