New KPMG Partners: Berry, Kearns & Woodward
KPMG in Bermuda announced the promotion of three new partners, Mr. James Berry, Mr. Todd Kearns and Mr. Stephen Woodward, with effect from October 1, 2011.
Managing Partner, Mr. Neil Patterson, commented on the new partner promotions saying: “We are very fortunate to welcome three new high quality partners. James, Todd and Steve bring a wealth of experience, industry knowledge and expertise to the Partnership. They have built and will continue to foster trusted relationships with their clients, which are at the core of our business and reputation.”
James Berry joins the partnership from his role as a Director providing audit and advisory services to a variety of reinsurance and banking clients. He has responsibility for the firm’s accounting advisory services, particularly IFRS conversion and accounting convergence, and has detailed knowledge in respect to Solvency II, Basel III and anti-money laundering/anti-terrorist financing compliance. Mr Berry returned to the Island in 2004 with his Bermudian wife, joining the Bermuda Firm from KPMG in London.
Todd Kearns joins the partnership from his role as Director, Investments & Banking. He brings more than ten years of audit experience in financial services with his focus being the Bermuda alternative investments industry. He has wide-ranging experience in US and Canadian GAAP and with clients employing a variety of investment strategies across different fund structures. Todd has recently become a member of the Board of Governors of the CFA Society of Bermuda.
Steve Woodward joins the partnership from his role as Director of KPMG Enterprise, where he has been providing audit and advisory services to a broad range of Bermuda-based clients in the retail, hospitality and commercial sectors. Steve has 20 years’ public accounting experience across a diverse portfolio of clients ranging from family-owned businesses to FTSE-100 listed companies.His professional experience has been gained in the UK, Barbados, Antigua and Bermuda, where he joined KPMG in 2006.
