On Monday night [Sept.27] the 2007 World Cup Bermuda Cricket Squad met up with the visiting MCC cricket team at the Somerset Cricket Club, with Bermuda walking away with the victory. [Bermuda 179/8 MCC 75]. Lionel Cann was the top scorer with 72, while Dwayne “Sluggo” Leverock was the pick of the Bermuda 2007 World Cup team bowlers with figures of 4.0-0-14-3.

Prior to the match, the Bermuda 2007 World Cup Cricket Team was honored by the Minister of Youth, Families and Sports Glenn Blakeney, and the President of the Bermuda Cricket Board Reginal Pearman for their commitment to Bermuda.

The 2007 Bermuda World Cup team of Captain Irving Romaine, Clay Smith, David Hemp, Janeiro Tucker, Dean Minors, Kwame Tucker, Malachi Jones, Kevin Hurdle, Dwayne Leverock, Lionel Cann, Stephen Outerbridge, OJ Pitcher, Delyone Borden, Stefan Kelly and Saleem Mukuddem all had their names called out as they received caps from the Minister.
