Catlin End-To-End Seeks Charity Submissions

October 20, 2011

The Catlin End-to-End, Bermuda’s largest charity fundraiser,is seeking applications from local charities wishing to receive funds from its 2012 event.

The annual event, now in its 25th year, raises pledge dollars from more than 2,500 dedicated and generous participants who navigate the roads, waterways and trails of the Island during the first Saturday in May.

Every year, a number of local charities are selected to receive the funds they need to make Bermuda a better place. “We are seeking deserving charities to win our support in 2012,” said Anne Mello, chair of the End-to-End Charitable Trust, which organizes the event.

“We have a formal application process for charities wishing to be considered recipients of our funds,” she added. “As a certified charity and an organization that distributes funds to local charities, we are strongly committed to the highest standards of care in where we direct the funds.”

“Therefore, the applications must be for programmes and projects that address current critical needs in the community, and the charities we select must supply formal accounts which prove to us that the funds they receive are used for the purpose for which they had been requested.”

Registered charities wishing to be considered for funds raised in the May 5, 2012 event should submit a confidential application providing detailed information about the organization, the project to be funded, and its impact on the community. Recipient charities must be non-political and non-sectarian and must support local charities doing work in Bermuda.

Applications must be received at the End-to-End mailbox by Friday, November 4. Application forms can be downloaded from The Centre on Philanthropy’s website [www.centreonphilanthropy.org] or the End-to-End website [www.bermudaendtoend.bm] under the Charity section. The End-to-End suggests that charities solicit the assistance of The Centre On Philanthropy in preparing their submissions.

The Catlin End-to-End’s mission is to be Bermuda’s premier annual charitable pledge event, committed to promoting the happiness and well-being of our island community through all inclusive activities. Charities selected in 2011 emphasised programmes supporting youth, families, seniors, and those with special needs.
