Friends Of Hospice To Hold Charity Walk

October 26, 2011

The Friends of Hospice charity is inviting all Bermudians and residents to participate in its annual Walk to Remember on Sunday [Oct. 30] — honouring all those we have loved and lost.

Funds raised directly benefit Agape House, the island’s only inpatient hospice facility. Pledge forms can be found at the Friends of Hospice official website.

Registration for the event begins at 8:30 am and the walk gets underway at 9 am.

The route begins at the Botanical Gardens Visitor’s Centre, down Berry Hill Road, up Trimingham Hill to Tee Street, back along Berry Hill Road to finish with refreshments and prizes at Agape House!

Located on the grounds of King Edward VII Memorial Hospital in Paget, Agape House is part of Bermuda Hospitals Board’s Medical Programme.

The hospice has 12 patient care beds and was originally established in April 1990, under the direction of Mrs. Hilary Soares.

Agape House’s mission is to provide quality end of life care.
