Upcoming: Cricket Coaching Course
As part of the continuing development of the Bermuda Cricket Board [BCB] Coaching Pathway, Wendell Coppin, ICC Americas Regional Development Officer, will be in Bermuda between November 9 and 17 to conduct a WICB Level II coaching course.
The course, offered by the BCB for no charge, will run on week-day evenings between 6pm and 9pm as well as on the weekend between 9am and 4pm. Candidates must be available for all sessions to qualify for certification.
The course will include modules such as technology in cricket, biomechanics, skill acquisition, strength and conditioning, sports psychology, injury management and lifestyle and nutrition.
Local presenters will include National Team Analyst and Fast Bowling Coach Lorenzo Tucker, National Team strength and Conditioner Rudy Alleyne, National Team Lead Physiotherapist Craig Brown and National Team Coach David Moore.
Coach David Moore stated “This is a wonderful opportunity for our local coaches to further develop their skills by undertaking a WICB level II Coaching course. The strength of Club cricket at all levels is the quality of tuition and instruction that clubs can provide to their junior and senior cricketers.”
“Quality player development programs depend heavily on quality coaches and their high level of coaching knowledge and its application. It is vital to the success of cricket in Bermuda at all levels that courses of this stature are conducted by the Board and undertaken by eligible participants. I encourage all active Level I coaches to apply for this course. I am sure it will be an excellent course.”
