Appleby’s Four Citywealth Nominations
Bermuda’s Appleby, the world’s largest provider of offshore legal, fiduciary and administration services, has been shortlisted for four categories in the Citywealth Offshore Awards due to take place on January 25, 2012 in London.
The firm has been nominated in the UK Offshore Law Firm of the Year, UK Offshore Trust Company of the Year, Caribbean Law Firm of the Yearand Caribbean Trust Company of the Year categories.
The Citywealth Offshore Awards have been established to highlight the excellence of the advisers and managers in the major offshore jurisdictions and will be judged by an international panel of highly respected practitioners from all sectors with experience of working with advisers in all the jurisdictions covered. The winners will be those judged to have excelled in achievement, innovation, expertise and service.
On-line magazine “Citywealth” provides news, profiles and feature articles from global experts in the wealth management and private investment sector.

Appleby has expanded its Private Client & Trusts services in some of the most well regulated and highly regarded offshore jurisdictions including Bermuda, British Virgin Islands, Cayman Islands, Guernsey, Isle of Man and Jersey.
In 2004 Bermuda law firm Appleby Spurling & Kempe, in pursuit of the goal of creating a leading global offshore firm, combined with Hunter & Hunter in the Cayman Islands to become Appleby Spurling Hunter.
After establishing an office in the British Virgin Islands in 2005, it combined in 2006 with Bailhache Labesse to become Appleby Hunter Bailhache and then just Appleby.
After establishing offices in Mauritius, Zurich and the Seychelles, Appleby combined with Dickinson Cruickshank to enter the Isle of Man in 2009, before opening an office to provide full legal services in Guernsey in 2010. This formed a combined enterprise at that point of 200 lawyers and more than 500 employees, including accountants, trust and corporate administrators as well as business services and support staff.
