Kevin Brown Sentencing Set For Dec.16

November 7, 2011

The sentencing date for 40-year-old Dr. Kevin Antario Brown on 21 charges related to sexually assaulting nearly a dozen patients at his Los Angeles practice has been pushed back to December 16.

Convicted in August following a trial that lasted almost three weeks, he could face nearly 17 years in prison.

The California physician’s sentencing was originally set for September 21 but has been postponed more than once.

Prosecutors contended that Dr. Brown, the son of former Premier Dr. Ewart Brown, molested multiple women over five years at three of his clinics.

During the trial the “Los Angeles Times” reported that “defense attorney Edi Faal called the accusations outright lies and said authorities had a vendetta against Brown because he had previously been acquitted in two other sexual assault cases. They also allege bias because one of the women was the niece of a Los Angeles Police Department officer.”

“Prosecutors relied heavily on testimony of the alleged victims because no physical evidence was ever collected and some of the women waited years to report Brown.”

Dr. Kevin Brown’s arrest and trial received significant coverage in the American print and on-line media, with many media outlets spotlighting the Bermuda connection.

Wow! some of these comments really have nothing to do with the facts here. This ‘man’ was in a position of trust, and broke that trust in the most despicable way; more than 17 times……that we know of. whether he is the son of the former Premier (whether assinine or not), or the son of a pauper, what he did is wrong, and an embarrassment to his family, his profession and as a fellow Bermudian, an embarrasment to me. Race shouldnt be the issue, political views shouldnt be the issue, whether he had a good role model in his father shouldnt even be the issue. this is a grown ‘man’, pass the age of accountability. what he did was on HIM and nobody else should shoulder the blame for these acts against innocent victims that went to him for a solution and not added problems.
