Phillips Top Scorer In Prievidza Win

In front of 2,000 spectators, Bermudian basketballer Sullivan Phillips led his Slovakian team Prievidza to a 88 – 82 win over Nova Ves on Saturday [Nov.12].

BC Prievidza held a 24 – 21 lead after the First Quarter, however they only managed 18 points in the Second Quarter, while Nova Ves scored 30 points to take a 51 – 42 point lead at the break.

Prievidza outscored Nova Ves 22 – 15 in the Third Quarter to pull within two, they then went on a 24 – 16 run in the Final Quarter to win.

Phillips led his team in scoring with 24 points, while Paul Guedel added 22, David Godbold chipped in with 16.  The full game is available here online to watch, however the commentary is in Slovakian.

The 6ft 6″ basketballer has played in England, Hungary, Czech Republic and Cyprus and has been twice been named as defensive player of the year in both Hungary and Cyprus. He signed with the Slovakian team earlier this month.
