I tell you, these boys are going to mess with wrong person.
Cowardly bastards!
When are they going to mess with the wrong person ? I wonder if women should even carry a purse !!! Lord who would have thought things would come to this !!!!!!!!! men attacking women….
Soon we will see smuggling of tasers and pepper spray just so the innocent stand a chance to protect themselves.
My two cents…can we make this pepper spray ourselves ?
Well…they fit the profile. Everything here is black except the males.
Women shouldn’t carry handbags?
Whats next.
Women should be banned from walking the streets?
Opportunist pigs. Stael from yah mumma. Oh detz rite…she aint got nuffin laft after looking after yah sorry asses.
I HOPE SHE AT LEAST HAD A CHANCE TO SCRATCH ONE OF THEM DURING THE STRUGGLE TO OBTAIN SOME DNA FROM THE COWARDS!!
It is totally insane that women are not allowed to carry mace to protect themselves. We are all sitting targets. When is our pathetic Government going to deal with this?
Has it really come to that Red Bean?
Yeh it has.
Sh!t.
Can women use baygon instead of mace ?
my coworkers and i were actually discussing this the last time a similar situation happened and we called the police to ask. If you just so happen to have a can of baygon on your person (ie just coming from grocery store where u purchased it) you can use it to defend yourself. However, you cannot carry round the baygon with intentions of using it to defend yourself…
i read on the internet one time that women in some places that ban pepper spray use Bagon. It is not as good as pepper spray but it is painful enough to disturb the attackers intensions.
Ever since I read that you better believe I carry my little Bagon can …But the way these boys are acting sounds like i needa carry a lil weapon in my bra
Not as bad??
Maybe not the new style baygon. The old baygon would blind anyone with one spray!
Not that I would feel too bad if a woman did that to one of these so called “gangsters, tough guys etc.” Not at all…
SOOOOOOO can women go abroad and buy this mace ? and hide it in their suitcase ? Wow I would hate to be a women in this day and age . and can someone explain to me what are the ingredients in mace !!!
Hmmm…ingredients? Let me look at my can of Pepper Spray. It states the ingredients are nothing more than “Oleoresin Capsicum”. The active ingredient in pepper spray is capsaicin (ground chilli peppers), OC gas, and an ID dye. Pepper Spray is a lachrymatory agent (a chemical compound that irritates the eyes to cause tears, pain, and even temporary blindness) that is used in riot control, crowd control, and personal self-defence, including defence against dogs and bears. Its inflammatory effects cause the eyes to close, taking away vision. For the police, this temporary blindness allows officers to more easily restrain subjects and permits persons using pepper spray for self-defense an opportunity to escape.
Although considered a non-lethal agent, it may be deadly in rare cases, and concerns have been raised about a number of deaths where being pepper sprayed may have been a contributing factor.
So why did they change the old style baygon ?
pepper, no, you cannot bring mace or pepper spray into the island. it is considered a weapon and will be treated like one.
and baygon was changed years ago because they decided that it was so toxic it was even hazardous for the people who used its health.
I think they knew that answer already which is why they made the comment about hiding (smuggling) it into the island. The other point about knowing the ingredients was for the purpose of making up your own concoction for your own protection.
Hmmm I wonder if I ground up my own legally bought fiery hot chilli peppers and mixed it with water and put it in a pump spray bottle and kept it by my bed or carried it in my purse, if I would be breaking any laws?
You never know when a ‘fish sandwich’ or some ‘fish chowder’ may show up at your home or on the street and need a quick spray.
Talk about going off topic ! !
But since you asked .. Johnson and Johnson (the new owners of ‘Baygon’) were desperate for the name. They bought out from Bayer but unfortunately they had to change the formula from one that really worked , to one that is more like a combination of perfume and insect vitamins. (Due to American environmental / health and safety issues)
We do notice that the price of Baygon is even more outrageous than ever , even though it is 80% less effective than the old formula.
I advise sending the importers a nice consumer’s message like I did a long time back and buy something else.
carb cleaner might be more effective!
Red bean soup (that is my favorite soup ) maybe Kim Wilson the newly appointed A.G. will look in to this matter.. Kim Wilson was the best A.G BDA has ever had….and thank you Premier.. for putting her back in this position.
Here we go again, it’s the Govt. fault as to why women are attacked by lowlife men riding on bikes wearing black.
In this particular instance, mace or pepper spray would be useless. For one, the mace or pepper spray would probably be in the womans handbag, which was snatched and secondly, she would have to somehow ask the gentlemen politely to lift their visors in order for her to spray their faces.
Women need to remember that when walking or riding to put handbags on the inside of them away from passing traffic. We are walking targets!! Just be vigilant!!
Two young fit guys on one middle aged woman. Sound like sissies to me. I swear one of these nights I’m going to dress up like an frail old woman and wait to get attacked by a couple of these creeps. I will have a baseball bat under my skirt. They will have to be carried away – they won’t walk from the scene.
Mace would not help much with two guys on a bike with full on helmets and visors.
Thats all good.
Snatch your purse, they are gone. Buy the tine you take your bat from the crotch area, they are gone. Then again whilst you restle with your nipples and on the ground they are gone.
Each incident is differant.
Just be safe and adjust yourself to surroundings.
Hell, you all have been told this for 50 years. And yes shit happens. Biggest problem is……., it’s your brothers and sisters that are doing it.,
This story is so disturbing, like many others. What has Bermuda come to?! We are in a sad state…when I go out for lunch I don’t even feel safe taking my wallet I put my cash in my pocket! Its bleddy well ridiculous!
Where were your children last night. If you don’t know, then find out.
Lil b@st@rds…
if you sprayed these turds with baygon do you think they would turn on their backs and wiggle their little arms? just askin..
I know this will not stop the hand bag snatching. I am a female and lots of times when I am out driving I see other females walking along the road, and they have their handbags on their shoulder on the outside, that’s like asking for someone to snatch your bag. I know it won’t deter a thief but if your bag is on your shoulder that is on the roadside, it’s more like an open invitation for someone to snatch it. Ladies be careful, please.
Just a thought—brake cleaner in a spray can. I know a mechanic who says it’s better than pepper spray, and keeps a can by the door—for cleaning brakes of course.
