Apology For Trash Collection Delays

December 7, 2011

The Ministry of Public Works has advised residents trash collection delays are being experienced in some areas of the island. Zones in areas including Flatts, Somerset and Langton Hill, Pembroke are currently affected.

“The Ministry apologises for any inconvenience caused, pointing out that the delays are due to mechanical challenges being experienced with some of its collection vehicles,” said a Government spokesman.

“The Ministry assures however that they are working to have as many trucks available to cover all the zones daily.”

The Ministry said it is anticipated that those areas where trash has not yet been collected, will have it collected today [Dec. 7].
