Harvey & Washington Set New Records

The Bermuda Amateur Swimming Association announced that the following New Short Course Records were set during the Winter Age Groups.

Harbour Swimming Club member Emma Harvey and Sharks Swimming Club’s Jessie Washington both set new records.

Harvey set a new Female 9-10 years – 100m Backstroke Record with a time of 1:21.92, breaking the previous record of 1:24.46 that was set on June 12th, 2011 by Ashley Irby, Harvey also broke a six year old record in the Female 9-10 years – 200m Individual Medley clocking 2:53.45, breaking the previous record of 2:56.11 which was set on December 02nd, 2005 by

Ashley Yearwood, she also set a new record in the Female 9-10 years – 100m Butterfly with a time of 1:18.89 breaking the Previous record of 1:20.65 which was set on June 13th, 2004 by Brooke DeSilva.

Washington clocked 2:11.46 in the Male 11-12 year – 200m Freestyle breaking the previous record of 2:14.38 he set himself on June 12th, 2011, he then broke the Male 11-12 year – 400m Freestyle record with a time of 4:43.56 breaking the mark of 4:51.20 which was set on October 01st, 1993 by Matthew Hammond.
