Holiday Trash Collection Schedule

December 20, 2011

[Updated] Minister of Public Works Michael Weeks, today advised the public of the operational days of waste management facilities and residential waste collection services during the festive season.

The Minister thanked the public for showing their appreciation by leaving gifts for waste collection handlers for the holiday season. However, he appealed to the public not to hand alcoholic beverages to the waste handlers while on their collection routes.

Minister Weeks said: “It is against the Ministry’s policy to have alcoholic beverage containers in Government vehicles, including Waste Collection trucks.

“Rather than leave gifts at curbside, members of the public are asked to drop off gifts for Collections staff at the Marsh Folly Depot on Palmetto Road and they will be delivered to the appropriate waste handlers. The Ministry looks forward to the public’s cooperation in this regard.”

Minister Weeks added: “On behalf of this Ministry and the people of Bermuda, I thank the waste handlers who go about their business with very little fanfare. And on behalf of the staff of the Ministry of Public Works I wish everyone a safe and joyful holiday.”

Please call the Marsh Folly Depot at 292 1517 for more information.
