Top Bermuda Lawyer Moving To Australia
Appleby announced that partner David Lines will be retiring from the Group at the end of September 2012 and will be moving to Australia with his family.
Bermudian Mr. Lines said: “I am sad to be leaving Appleby, where I have enjoyed 14 successful years.
“During this time I am pleased to have played a role in the growth of Appleby’s local and global insurance and reinsurance practice, and to watch it go from strength to strength.
“As market leader in the insurance and reinsurance space, Appleby has become the firm of choice in this market and I expect the team to continue to grow.”
Appleby Insurance Group Team Leader, Tim Faries, said: “David has made a significant contribution to our business and will be missed.
“Our priority is to work together over the next nine months before he leaves for Australia, to ensure that there is a seamless transition for his clients.
“On behalf of all the Appleby partners, I would like to thank David for the contribution he has made and wish him and his family the very best of success in their new life.”
Bermuda’s loss is Australia’s gain. Yet another Bermudian proffessional leaving for greener pastures, one of many. Most slip quietly out, cashing in & taking their assets & talents with them. Many of these people are from well established Bermuda families. They have had enough of the New Bermuda.
Who can blame him for heading to Australia. Everything about that country is better than Bermuda….even the beaches.
For all their nationalism, the only thing the PLP seems to have been able to achieve is widespread dissatisfaction amongst Bermudians and Bermuda-lovers with our country.
Fed up with being screwed over by our moronic government and inadequate leaders.
Welcome to the New Bermuda – everyone is leaving! I am now invited to just as many Bermudian Friends’ Leaving Drinks as Expat Friends’ Leaving Drinks.
This place sux!
Well, I hear they like Sheila’s in Oz!
You will be dearly missed, David. A big loss to Bermuda…one of the founders of YouthNet (where we met!) Best of luck to you and your family.
