    Why I Carry a Gun!

My old grandpa said to me ‘Son, there comes a time in every man’s life when he stops bustin’ knuckles and starts bustin’ caps and
usually it’s when he becomes too old to take an butt whoopin.’

I don’t carry a gun to kill people.
I carry a gun to keep from being killed.

I don’t carry a gun to scare people.
I carry a gun because sometimes this world can be a scary place.

    I don’t carry a gun because I’m paranoid.
I carry a gun because there are real threats in the world.

    I don’t carry a gun because I’m evil.
I carry a gun because I have lived long enough to see the evil in the world.

I don’t carry a gun because I hate the government.
I carry a gun because I understand the limitations of government.

    I don’t carry a gun because I’m angry.
I carry a gun so that I don’t have to spend the rest of my life hating myself for failing to be prepared.

I don’t carry a gun because I want to shoot someone.
I carry a gun because I want to die at a ripe old age in my bed, and not on a sidewalk somewhere tomorrow afternoon.

I don’t carry a gun to make me feel like a man.
I carry a gun because men know how to take care of themselves and the ones they love.

    I don’t carry a gun because I feel inadequate.
I carry a gun because unarmed and facing three armed thugs, I am inadequate.

    I don’t carry a gun because I love it.
I carry a gun because I love life and the people who make it meaningful to me.

    Police protection is an oxymoron.
    Free citizens must protect themselves.
Police do not protect you from crime, they usually just investigate the crime after it happens and then call someone in to clean up the mess.

Personally, I carry a gun because I’m too young to die and too old to take a whoopin’…..

  4. The Hell says:

I hate to see the time come when we are gonna have to protect our life and property with any means ie: guns etc..First gov have to change the law because you cannot harm anyone who breaks into your house.

    • united says:

Well, the thing to ask government is. So why can they hurt me and I cannot protect my wife/husband, kids or myself? See what kind of hypocritical answer you get from these coward politicians.

  5. In Mark's Opinion says:

Plenty of laws about what we can’t do ,now is time for laws for what we can do like protect ourselves.

    • OMG says:

Well tell our Gument to give the Police more money and stop cutting their budget!!!

    • united says:

If you can’t get guns legally, get a baseball bat or machete. Now, when you show the machete be prepared to clean up the mess as the coward crook will crap himself on his way out.

  6. jus ahskin says:

sooo does this mean that you’ll let me whoop his a@#! in protection of my family if he tries to gain entry or will i still have to go jail with him for “assualt”?

  7. VJ says:

@ The Hell. You are incorrect in saying that you cannot harm anyone that comes into your house. The law allows you to use “reasonable force” to protect yourself. If someone breaks into your house of course you can protect yourself and the occupants, but you cannot use force greater than what is used against you. In other words, you cannot beat them unconscious if they haven’t laid a finger on you or shoot them in the back as they are running away with a trash bag of your stuff over their shoulder. However, if they are “whoopin’ you senseless, then you don’t have to just take it….by law you can defend yourself and not be charged with assault….

  8. VJ says:

My bad…Shooting in the back may have been a poor example for Bermuda since we aren’t allowed to have guns. Maybe I should have said don’t bash them over the head with a brick or something along those lines!!!

  9. Blue says:

A baseball bat will work someone said they practiced on watermelons!

  10. VJ says:

Indeed! I personally feel that anybody that breaks in deserves exactly what they get….but we have to follow the law or unfortunately find ourselves in trouble ….
