Sandys 360: Free Basketball Clinics

January 19, 2012

Sandys 360 is hosting a series of free clinics for eight weeks beginning this Saturday [Jan.21]. The clinics will run every Saturday from 3pm to 4:30pm every Saturday, beginning January 21, for young people ages 5-15. They will cover fundamental skills such as dribbling, passing, and shooting.

“Our aim is to develop the necessary fundamental skills of the sport, encouraging lifelong participation,” says Sandys 360 Sports Director John Barry Nusum.

“Basketball is a great team sport, and will encourage our youth to develop team building, and communication skills that are vital to healthy growth and development,” agrees Dr. Melvyn Bassett, Sandys 360 Managing Director. “This is a fantastic initiative and we congratulate Mr. Nusum on his vision.”

Sandys 360 is hosts a FIBA regulated Basketball court with newly refinished floors. The floor is also marked for volleyball, netball, and badminton.

The Bermuda Basketball Association has recently made Sandys 360 their home gym, which means they will be holding all practices, trainings and home games at the site for the 2012 season. They opened the season with open call tryouts, last Saturday.
