Video/Results: Mountain Bike Race
The first mountain bike race of The Latter Rain Water Service Race Series took place yesterday [Jan.15] at the Aboretum.
A record number of cyclist showed up to participate in the action on a course which was full of surprise turns. 48 mountain bikers came out to ‘strut their stuff’ in the first of seven point’s series races.
In Men’s A Class, Dominic Mayho did not fail to disappoint as he dominated the day and came first followed by newcomer Greg Reid in second place and third place, Mark Hatherly.
In Men’s B, Kent Richardson, masters athlete, shocked all by leading the class, followed by junior rider Nathaniel Hartwig and in third place Padraig Browne
In the Men’s Novice category, the returning Barry Brewer showed that he still has what it takes by leading the division and followed by Erik Hetzel and third place Philando Hill.
The women’s class was led by Sarah Bonnet, who continues to dominate, followed by Karen Smith in second place and third place Shara Cronden.
In the male junior division, 13-16 yrs, Daniel Hetzel led the competitors, followed by 2nd place Robin Horsfield and 3rd place Andre Campbell.
In the female junior division, 13-16 yrs, Elizabeth Jordon led the ladies, followed by 2nd place Jessica Godfrey. In the male junior division, 12 & under, Alex Bordage led the field with Alex Aroujo following in 2nd place and Isaiah Rickards in 3rd place.
