Caron Bermuda To Fete Butterfield

February 14, 2012

Caron Bermuda will be honouring HSBC Bank Bermuda Limited CEO Philip Butterfield at its second annual Richard J. Caron Award of Excellence Dinner in May.

After 12 years with the bank, Mr. Butterfield will be stepping down as Chief Executive Officer — a position he has held since 2004 — later this year to assume a new role as chairman of the board of directors.

The gala event is named after Richard J. Caron, the retired American industrialist who founded the non-profit Caron substance abuse programme in Pennsylvania in 1957.

Being held under the patronage of Premier Paula Cox at the Fairmont Southampton Hotel on May 18, proceeds from the dinner will support the Adolescent and Family Programme and the Caron Bermuda Scholarship Fund, which will provide financial assistance to those who are unable to afford overseas residential treatment at Caron US Treatment Centres.
