Man Fined $1,000 For Cocaine
23-year-old Kershon Burt this morning [Feb.17] pleaded guilty to a charge of possessing 0.46 grams of crack cocaine which Police found in the back pocket of his pants during a Police search on 28th October 2011.
The Prosecutor told the Senior Magistrate that Mr Burt had been stopped by a routine Police mobile patrol and that he was seen, by them, to be quickly stuffing something into his back pocket.
This attracted the attention of the Police and they informed him that he would be searched as they suspected that he was in possession of an illegal drug.
After a short submission from Duty Counsel Leopold Mills, the Senior Magistrate fined Burt $1,000.
